In the words of Big Brother Silas, “Judah Jones is in the world!”
We’ve been gifted with this little guy for a whole month already, and we are madly in love.
Quite literally, he has stunned me into blogging silence. I’ve begun a Judah post many times now, but have yet to finish (partially due to nursing and diaper interruptions, but mostly because I just can’t seem to find the right words.)
And I still don’t have the ‘right’ words. Hence all the pictures.
He’s completely amazing and we just can’t get enough of him. The other 3 children swarm to him like a moth to flame…like a bees to honey…
And they’ve all assigned themselves specific jobs- Caramia gets his clean diapers and throw the dirty ones away,
Sam is in charge of pacifying,
and Silas entertains him.
And they’re all responsible for arguing over who holds him next and screaming for me when they think Judah needs me.
Our hearts are full. Our days are full. And Judah has had a jam-packed 4 weeks of life.
Some highlights:
He has gained FOUR pounds!
He went to Chuck-E-Cheese’s (3 days old!)
He went to church (5 days old!)
3. He went on a hayride (1 week old!)
He went trick-or-treating!
He was fed a frito by Caramia (forced- feeding diverted by Daddy)
He was offered a drink of apple juice from Sammy’s nipple. So generous. And so weird.
He met Nana and Papa.
He pooped…nay…had an absolute blowout in aisle 3 of the grocery store,
making him my first-ever child to successfully halt my grocery shopping.
I hope to share his birth story once I receive our pictures from our phenomenal and generous photographer. Thank you for all the love, kind words, gifts, and meals. We are incredibly grateful (and I’m a better human being for not having to cook a meal in over a month!).
This month has truly been a celebration of life.
Wow! Great story. You don’t need many words to speak volumes!! We are all blessed having the Kirkpatrick family in our lives. Nana loves you, Silas, Sammy, Mia, and Judah!
I keep forgetting to come back and leave a comment on this post. I loved reading it so much. It sounds like he’s had a full life already–and that your life is full too. So happy for you. Blessings to you all.
